Check out Oakdale Park's Swimming Pool - The Plunge!!

Built in 1925 (in fact, dug using a team of mules), this pool holds over
300,000 gallons of water! Providing endless hours of fun and entertainment for
several generations, the Oakdale Plunge is one-of-a-kind swimming pool. Trained
lifeguards are always on duty.
Season: First weekend
in May through Labor Day.
Rates: 2009 rates are
$5.50 per person ($5.08 + tax) ages 3 and up. Children 2 and under
are free but must be accompanied in the water by a paid adult. All persons not
potty-trained must wear a swim diaper. On
Monday-Thursdays (excluding holidays), we offer a swim special for those who are paid
overnight campers at Oakdale Park.

Group rates: Special
rates are provided for youth groups of 20 or more: day care centers,
church groups, scout groups, ball teams, school groups.
Swim lessons: Red
Cross lessons are taught by certified instructors during June and July. The one-week
sessions are held in the mornings. Parents and grandparents, consider camping with us
while your young ones learn to swim!

Lessons
Each
year over 100 children take swim lessons with us at Oakdale Park. The pool is a perfect
place to learn to swim. The pool provides a large area where children are able to touch
the bottom and feel safe while they learn to swim. Scott has taught Red Cross lessons for
over 25 years; he incorporates water safety into the lessons.

Park swim lessons are held in the mornings prior to the pool's daily opening at 10:00 a.m. Each session includes 5 lessons: Monday
Friday. Cost of the lessons is a $35.00 pool

Note: Level I - First class for 6 year old students.
Level II - 7+ years who can prone glide, bob, back float and has a Level
I card.
Level III - 7+ years who can swim the American crawl 25 yards,
comfortable in deep water, and has a Level II card.
Level IV - Can swim the elementary backstroke, back crawl, front crawl,
tread water, and has a Level III card.
Level V - Can swim the breaststroke, sidestroke, dive into deep water,
knows rescue breathing, and has a Level IV card.
